History of Groundhog Day

I've never heard of Punxsutawney Phil? Groundhog Day is observed due to the woodchuck. Yes, you read is right and cool. The day is indeed a marmot. Punxsutawney is the name of a groundhog weather. He lives in his hideout in Goble Knob, Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, in a short period before the second in February. Otherwise, he lives downtown with another Groundhog and called Phyllis. On February 2, Phil from his burrow and sees his shadow. If he sees his shadow and returns to the cave then the United States has a long winter for six more weeks.

But if he can not see his shadow and he is always outside, it means that winter will soon end and spring is coming very soon. It communicates to the President of Inner Circle, the group of people who care for him. He does so in a secret language called Groundhogese which apparently only the chairman of the Inner Circle can understand. Phil was "predict" the duration of winter like this for almost a century now, and they have always been 100% accurate. It is natural to ask how an ordinary groundhog can live that long. Legend has it that Phil was a potion with a secret recipe over the years. This potion has the power to extend the life of the woodchuck to 6 years, whenever he drinks.
